Midday to early afternoon for sunlit spray
A few kilometres from its upper cascade the Duden river reaches the coast and throws itself off a 40-metre cliff straight into the sea, the only major waterfall in the area to do so. The best view is from the clifftop park at Lara, where terraces look along the coast to the falling water and its haze of spray; harbour boat trips also cruise beneath it. The park is free and makes an easy pairing with the upper falls.
