Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies cruise-port.com uses on our website and mobile apps, and how you can control them. It applies alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and SDK identifiers used by mobile apps. All of them let a service remember information about your visit β for example, which language you prefer, or whether you've consented to analytics.
Why we use them
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes only:
- To make the Services work β for example, to remember your language preference and your cookie choice.
- To understand how the Services are used β but only with your explicit permission.
We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across unrelated websites.
Strictly necessary
These are required for the Services to function and cannot be switched off. They do things like remember the language you've chosen, keep your cookie-consent decision, and β where needed β keep you signed in.
Because these are essential, consent is not required under GDPR / ePrivacy rules. They never collect information for tracking or marketing.
Analytics (opt-in)
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand which pages are visited, how people move through the Services, and where things break. This helps us prioritise fixes and improvements.
Analytics cookies are off by default β they are only set after you click "Accept all" or enable the Analytics toggle in the banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.
Specific cookies and storage items in use
The main items we set are:
- cruise-port-consent-v1 (local storage, strictly necessary) β stores your cookie-consent decision and its timestamp. Kept for up to 12 months.
- NEXT_LOCALE (cookie, strictly necessary) β remembers the language you have selected. Session-based.
- _ga and _ga_[container] (Google Analytics cookies, analytics, opt-in) β used to distinguish unique users and sessions. Set only after consent; kept for up to 24 months.
Occasional third-party technologies, such as the form-submission service you interact with on the Contact page, may set their own temporary cookies to prevent abuse. Those cookies are limited to the form's session.
Managing your preferences
You can change your mind at any time:
- Click Cookie settings in the footer to re-open the banner.
- Accept all, reject all, or turn individual categories on or off.
- Your updated choice takes effect immediately β no reload required.
We re-prompt you for consent if we add new cookie categories or change what the existing ones do.
Browser-level controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. You can also enable "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signals β where these are legally recognised, we treat them as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may cause parts of the Services to stop working correctly.
Changes to this policy
If we change which cookies we use, we will update this policy and, where required, re-prompt you for consent. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when this policy was last revised.
