The Yivli Minare, or 'fluted minaret', is the symbol of Antalya: a slender 13th-century Seljuk tower of red brick, ribbed with eight half-round flutes and once tiled in turquoise. It rises beside the old Alaeddin (Yivli) Mosque at the top of the old town. The mosque is still in use, so dress modestly and remove shoes if you step inside; the courtyard and minaret are free to admire from outside.
