At low tide a natural gravel bar emerges from the sea, letting you walk straight across the seabed from the end of Bridge Street to wooded Bar Island. It is free and great fun, but the bar is only passable for roughly 1.5 hours either side of low tide. Check the tide table and turn back in good time, or you risk being stranded until the next low water.
