Park Loop Road is Acadia's scenic backbone, a mostly one-way route that strings together the park's greatest hits: Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Otter Cliff and Jordan Pond. You can drive it, take a tour, or use the fare-free Island Explorer bus, which follows much of the ocean-front section and lets you hop off at the highlights.
