Hyotan Onsen is one of the few hot spring facilities in Beppu to have received recognition in the Michelin Green Guide, and it deserves the distinction. The complex features a variety of bathing experiences: multiple temperature pools, a waterfall shoulder massage where hot spring water cascades onto your shoulders, a sand bath, and several scenic outdoor rock pools. Located in the heart of the Kannawa district, it is an ideal way to round off a morning spent exploring the nearby Jigoku Meguri hells. The facility is well-maintained and visitor-friendly, with clear signage and instructions for international guests.
