Cantolao is a sheltered arc of grey pebbles on the inner side of the La Punta peninsula, backed by a promenade of Italianate villas and a row of cevicherías. There is no sand and the water is cold, but it is the one place in Callao where you can sit still, watch the fishing boats and see San Lorenzo island out in the bay.
