At East Point, the Darwin Military Museum tells the story of the 1942 Japanese air raids that hit Darwin harder than Pearl Harbor in tonnage of bombs. Original gun emplacements, bunkers and military hardware sit among the trees, while the indoor Defence of Darwin Experience uses film and immersive displays to bring the bombing to life. It is the best place to understand Darwin's wartime front line.
