Port summary
Most ships berth on the Roseau Bayfront cruise pier, right in the capital; larger or second ships sometimes use Woodbridge Bay (Deep Water Port) about 2 km north. Roseau itself is walkable - the Botanic Gardens, Old Market, cathedral and Dominica Museum are all within a few blocks. But the island's headline sights are inland or along the coast and need a taxi or organised tour: Trafalgar Falls, Titou Gorge and the Emerald Pool in Morne Trois Pitons National Park (a UNESCO site), the strenuous Boiling Lake hike, the volcanic Champagne Reef for snorkelling near Soufriere, and the Kalinago Territory, home of the Caribbean's last indigenous people. Dominica is also one of the few places on earth to see resident sperm whales year-round on a boat trip from Roseau.
