From the cruise terminal to the city centre
Metered Yellow Cab and other licensed taxis. All accept cards. Roughly $15-25 to downtown or Fort Lauderdale Beach.
📍 Taxi rank outside each cruise terminal exit
Uber and Lyft both operate. Use the rideshare pickup zone (signed at each terminal). Often slightly cheaper than taxis.
📍 Designated rideshare pickup zone outside each terminal
Cruise lines often sell paid shuttles to Fort Lauderdale Beach, Las Olas, or Sawgrass Mills. Convenient but pricier than rideshare.
📍 Cruise-line shuttle desks inside the terminals
Cheap but inconvenient: there is no bus stop inside the port, you must walk through the security gate to SE 17th Street first. Skip if mobility is limited.
📍 Broward County Transit route 40 stops on SE 17th Street outside the port gate
Best option for Everglades or Miami day trips. Rental shuttle from port to airport runs frequently. Skip if you only need downtown or the beach.
📍 All major rental agencies are at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL), 8 km away
The port is a fenced industrial harbour. Walking out is technically possible to SE 17th Street (~25 minutes) but not recommended — no shade and limited sidewalks.
