Helsinki's tram network is the best way to get around. Tap contactless at boarding or use the HSL app.
📍 Tram stops within 200 m of Olympia Terminal (lines 2, 3) and at Katajanokka (line 5). Hernesaari has tram 6 stop 400 m from the quay.
Cruise-line shuttles operate from Hernesaari to the city centre on cruise days. Rarely needed from Olympia or Katajanokka.
📍 Cruise-line shuttle stops outside Hernesaari Terminal (LHC).
The Suomenlinna ferry is part of the HSL network — use the same contactless card or phone tap as on trams and buses.
📍 HSL Suomenlinna ferry departs from Kauppatori (Market Square).
Buses exist but trams cover most tourist destinations more directly. HSL fare is the same as tram.
📍 HSL bus stops at Kauppatori and Kamppi bus station near the centre.
All Helsinki taxis are metered and accept cards. Fixed-fare apps like Fiksu Taksi or Taksi Helsinki are easy to use.
📍 Taxi rank at each cruise terminal exit.
Helsinki's metro is clean and fast but runs mainly east-west away from the cruise docks. Most cruisers find trams more useful.
📍 Closest metro stations are Kaisaniemi and Helsinki University; neither directly serves the cruise docks.
