Honningsvåg Church (Honningsvåg Kirke) is the town's quiet emotional center. Built in 1885, it was the only building to survive the systematic burning of Honningsvåg during the German retreat from Finnmark in 1944 — local accounts say it was spared because it was being used as a Wehrmacht storehouse. When residents returned after the war, the church briefly housed families while the town was rebuilt. The interior is simple and white-painted, with a few pieces of historic decoration; opening hours are limited outside summer, but even a look from outside is worthwhile given the context.
