The North Cape plateau is Europe's most photographed Arctic headland — a flat, wind-scoured cliff at 71° north where the globe monument stands over the open sea. Most of your time on the plateau is spent on the paved paths around the globe, at the clifftop lookout and inside the underground Nordkapphallen visitor center. There's no real walking effort involved, but the wind can be fierce even on bright days — jackets, hats and gloves are a good idea year-round. Allow at least 60–90 minutes on the plateau itself, then add 90 minutes for the drive each way.
