Port summary

Most ships berth at Sundabakki or the modern outer cruise quay, both a flat 5–10 minute walk to central Ísafjörður (Aðalstræti, Tjöruhúsið, the Heritage Museum). The Westfjords are sparsely populated and slow to drive — Bolungarvík (15 km) and Suðureyri (17 km) are easy half-day trips, but Dynjandi (100 km, 2 hr) needs a full-day rental car or coach. Iceland is essentially cashless but expensive — bring no cash and budget €15–€25 lunches and €40+ activity tickets.
