Miaoqian Road, the street that runs from the Cijin ferry pier to the Tianhou Temple, is lined with seafood restaurants. The system is simple: choose fish, prawns, clams or squid from the trays on ice outside, agree the price and cooking style, and sit down while it is cooked. The Tianhou Temple at the end of the street was founded in the 17th century and is dedicated to Mazu, protector of fishermen. Prices are usually by weight, so ask before you order.
