Port summary
Kristiansand is one of Norway's easiest DIY cruise calls. Most ships dock at Lagmannsholmen in the heart of the city, a 5–10 minute flat walk from the Kvadraturen grid, Markens Gate shopping street, and the Fiskebrygga fish quay. Some larger vessels use the adjacent Silokaia berth, still walkable. The old town Posebyen, Christiansholm Fortress and the Odderøya island art walk are all on foot from the dock. For Kristiansand Dyrepark (the zoo) and Lillesand you need a bus, taxi or hire car.

From the cruise terminal to the city centre
Most passengers just walk — flat 500 m route into the centre and Markens Gate shopping street. Under 10 minutes on foot.
📍 Exit Lagmannsholmen and cross Vestre Strandgate into the Kvadraturen grid.
Agder Taxi (+47 38 02 80 00) and Taxi Sør serve the cruise quay; cards and contactless accepted, metered fares regulated. Useful for Kristiansand Dyrepark, Baneheia and Ravnedalen.
📍 Taxi rank directly outside the cruise reception at Lagmannsholmen on cruise days.
AKT lines M1 and M2 connect the centre with Kristiansand Dyrepark (line M1 via Sørlandssenteret takes about 25 min); pay with contactless card or the AKT Reise app on board.
📍 AKT stops at Henrik Wergelands gate and on Vestre Strandgate a 3–5 min walk from the cruise reception.
Some cruise lines run a short paid shuttle from Silokaia into Markens Gate when larger ships berth further from the centre; most guests just walk.
📍 Shuttle pickup signed on the quay at Lagmannsholmen on cruise days.
Worth it only if you're heading out of town — Lillesand, Setesdalsbanen or the Lindesnes lighthouse. Norwegian road toll AutoPass registration required for most rentals.
📍 Hertz and Avis desks at Kristiansand Rutebilstasjon and at the airport Kjevik (18 km).
