Port summary
Mazatlán's API cruise terminal is at the south end of the port, separated from Centro Histórico by 4-5 km of working harbour. Walking out isn't realistic — passengers take a pulmonia (open-air taxi), regular taxi or cruise-line shuttle into the old town in 10-15 minutes. From there, the Malecón runs 8 km north along the coast to the Gold Zone (Zona Dorada) resort district. The 156-metre El Faro lighthouse hike, Stone Island beach trip and Pueblo Mágico Copala excursion are common DIY day plans.

🚢 Cruise Pier — Espigón Norte
Mazatlán's main cruise berth at the north end of the API port complex. Two cruise ships can berth at the same time; the terminal building, pulmonia rank and craft market are directly on the pier. Coordinates approximate — the named pier is not separately tagged in OSM.

From the cruise terminal to the city centre
Pulmonias are Mazatlán's iconic open-air golf-cart-style taxis — agree the fare before boarding; flat rate to most central locations.
📍 Pulmonia rank immediately outside the terminal gates.
Government-set zone fares — confirm before the ride. Aurigas have open beds with bench seating; regular taxis are conventional sedans.
📍 Auriga (red pickup) taxis and regular taxis at the terminal taxi rank.
Most lines run a paid shuttle to the Golden Zone; pulmonias are usually cheaper for two or more people.
📍 Cruise shuttles board outside the terminal when offered.
Uber works in Mazatlán but pickups inside the cruise port can be delayed; some drivers ask you to walk to a meeting point on Avenida del Puerto.
📍 Order via the Uber app from the terminal area.
Cheap but slow and often crowded; useful only if you want a local experience.
📍 Pre-pago city bus stops on Avenida del Puerto, a 5-minute walk from the terminal gate.
