🕐 Best time to visit
Late afternoon (16:00) when stalls reopen after the heat.
Mutrah Souq (As Souq Al Kabir) is one of Arabia's oldest souqs and the obvious first stop from the cruise gate. The covered alleys keep the heat out; stalls sell Omani silver khanjar daggers, frankincense from Dhofar, halwa, kufi caps and pashminas. Fixed-price shops near the entrance, haggling further in. Late-afternoon reopening (16:00) is the best time.
Getting there from the port
Walk west from the gate along the corniche; the souq's main entrance is at the Mutrah Waves arch.
