Port summary

Nuuk is the world's smallest capital city (~19,000 people) and an alongside cruise port. Most large ships dock at Atlantkaj on the south side of the Nuuk peninsula; smaller expedition vessels use Feederkaj. Atlantkaj sits ~2 km from the colonial harbour Kolonihavnen — the walk is steep and uphill, so most cruisers take the cruise-line shuttle or the yellow Nuup Bussii line 1 from the bus terminal a 5-minute walk north of the pier. The town centre (Nuuk Cathedral, National Museum, Katuaq, Hans Egede statue, Kolonihavnen and Nuuk Art Museum) is compact and walkable once you reach it. Nuup Kangerlua fjord tours, Kapisillit and Qooqqut Nuan are pre-booked boat excursions of 3–8 hours.
