Fort Hamilton is a short row of cannons on a ridge above the north side of Admiralty Bay, all that is left of an eighteenth-century battery built to watch the anchorage. There is nothing to pay and nothing to queue for. What you get is the view: the whole bay laid out below with the yachts, the town, the Belmont Walkway threading south along the shore and your own ship at anchor in the middle of it. The walk up from town takes about twenty-five minutes on a steep road with no shade, so either go early or take a taxi and walk back down.
Getting there from the port
Walk north out of town and up the Hamilton road, about 25 minutes and steep, or take a taxi
