🕐 Best time to visit

Early morning; the market winds down by mid-afternoon and closes Sundays

The market sits just off the jetty, a cluster of stalls under awnings selling mangoes, bananas, nutmeg, hot sauce and cinnamon bark alongside the craft tables with jewellery, carvings and the ubiquitous woven bags. It is small enough to see in twenty minutes and it is at its best first thing, when the boats from St Vincent have just come in. Prices are in EC dollars and everything is cash. Vendors will bargain a little but not much, and the produce side is a working market for the island rather than a tourist set-up.
