Port summary
Cruise Ship Complex sits on Wrightson Road on the Gulf of Paria, 800 m from Independence Square. Most Old Town landmarks (Red House, Woodford Square, Cathedral) are walkable; Queen's Park Savannah and the Magnificent Seven are 25–35 min on foot or a short taxi. The city's headline excursions — Caroni Bird Sanctuary at sunset, Maracas Bay over the Northern Range, and Asa Wright in the rainforest — are 25 min to 1 h 15 each way and benefit from prebooked drivers. Walk straight off most days; security and immigration sometimes spot-check. Trinidad & Tobago dollars (TTD) are pegged loosely to USD and tourist sites accept USD readily.

Use H-plate taxis (yellow on green) — cash-only, fares quoted in TTD; agree a price before you ride.
📍 Taxi rank just outside the cruise terminal gate on Wrightson Road.
Some cruise lines run a paid downtown or Savannah shuttle on call days; check your daily programme.
📍 Outside the terminal gate when ships call.

Driving is on the LEFT. Downtown traffic is heavy and parking scarce; only worth it for full-day Caroni or Asa Wright loops.
