Sankt Nicolai (Saint Nicholas) is the most architecturally striking of Visby's ruined medieval churches — a Dominican monastery church begun in the 1230s and left roofless after the Reformation. In summer, large limestone windows frame live music: the ruin hosts a program of open-air concerts and occasional opera, most famously during the annual Medieval Week in early August. Outside event times it's free to wander.
Getting there from the port
Walk into the old town — the ruin is just inside Norderport gate.
