From the cruise terminal to the city centre
A paid port shuttle bus runs to Akita Station and the city center on cruise days. Watch for long queues when a big ship is in; buy a day pass and confirm the last return.

Taxis reach Akita Station in about 20 minutes for around ¥3,000. Supply at the wharf is limited on big-ship days, so book ahead or use the shuttle.

The old port station has closed. Walk 25 minutes to Tsuchizaki Station for JR local trains, or go to Akita Station and take the Akita Shinkansen (Komachi) to Kakunodate (~45 min) and Tazawako.
