The Alanya Teleferik is the painless way up to the castle: an eight-minute cable-car ride in glass cabins from a lower station by Cleopatra Beach and the Damlatas Cave up to the ramparts near the summit. The views over the beach, the headland and the harbour on the way up are half the point, and it turns a sweaty 40-minute climb into a scenic hop. Buy a return, and combine it with a walk back down through the old town.
