Morning, before the beach crowds
Damlatas ('dripping stone') is a small but atmospheric cave discovered by quarry workers in 1948, packed with amber and cream stalactites and stalagmites that have taken millennia to form. Its constant warm, humid, high-carbon-dioxide air has long drawn asthma sufferers who sit inside for its supposed benefits. It sits right at the base of the headland beside Cleopatra Beach, a five-minute visit that pairs naturally with the beach and the cable-car station next door.
Getting there from the port
At the foot of the headland by Cleopatra Beach; walk or short taxi from the pier.
