🕐 Best time to visit
Any time; a great rainy-day or first stop off the ship
Nebuta Museum WA RASSE keeps the spirit of Aomori's Nebuta Matsuri alive all year. Each August the city fills with vast illuminated floats of warriors and gods, paraded to the beat of taiko drums and cries of 'rassera'; here several of the prize-winning floats from recent festivals are displayed at close quarters, so you can see the painted washi-paper skin and wooden frames up close, learn how they are built, and even try the drums. It is the best possible introduction to the city and an easy first stop off the ship.
