Built after a tsunami flattened Callao in 1746, Real Felipe is the biggest fort Spain ever raised in the Americas: pentagonal walls, two keeps and the guns that fired the last shots of the colonial era in 1826. Guided tours in Spanish and English take you through the powder rooms and up onto the ramparts, with the container cranes on one side and the old town on the other.
