AST runs a single dedicated bus from Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII (next to Catania Centrale, 20 min walk from the cruise berths at Sporgente Centrale) departing 8:15 AM and returning from Rifugio Sapienza at 4:30 PM — €6.60 return, 2 hours each way. At Sapienza, the Funivia dell'Etna cable car costs €52 return to 2,500m, or €82pp for the full "Tour 3000" package (cable car + 4x4 minibus + volcano guide to 2,920m). Cable car runs 8:30 AM to 2 PM, so you must take the morning ascent to be back for the 4:30 PM bus.

Interbus runs hourly from Catania bus terminal (Via Archimede, 5 min walk from Catania Centrale and ~25 min walk or short shuttle from the cruise port) to Taormina Pirandello in 1h15 for €5 each way (€10 return). The Pirandello bus terminal is a 5-minute walk from Porta Messina, the top of Corso Umberto — no taxi or funicular needed. The Greek Theatre is a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal; entry is €14 (€16 during the current Jago exhibition).
