Arrive early, before the Ocho Rios ships' tours
Dunn's River Falls tumbles about 180 metres in natural limestone terraces straight onto a beach near Ocho Rios. Guides lead human chains up the falls, so wear water shoes and a swimsuit and expect to get soaked; lockers and photo vendors are on site. From Falmouth it is a 75-90 minute drive each way, which makes it a full-day trip: go only on a long port call, leave early, and set a firm time to head back. Adult admission is roughly US$25-30, plus a tip for the climb guide. The falls reopened soon after Hurricane Melissa, but check before you go. A ship or port tour removes the return-time risk.
