Historic Falmouth Walk

Falmouth was laid out in the 1770s as a sugar and slave-trade port and is often called the best-preserved Georgian town in the Caribbean. Start at Water Square with its courthouse and the Albert George Market, then wander Market, Duke and King Streets past balconied townhouses, the Baptist Manse and the old Phoenix Foundry. Finish at St. Peter's Anglican Church before looping back to the pier. Allow 60-90 minutes, carry water and wear a hat: shade is patchy and pavements uneven. Local guides offer walking tours at the gate, but the grid is small enough to explore alone.
