Port summary
Hamilton is the easiest of Bermuda's three cruise berths to work independently, because you step off the ship into the middle of the capital. Only ships of roughly 215-220 m or less can reach it through the narrow Two Rock Passage, so calls here are small-ship affairs while the bigger ships go to King's Wharf at the Royal Naval Dockyard. Front Street itself takes about an hour to walk and browse; the cathedral, the parliament buildings, the parks and the National Gallery are all within ten minutes on foot, and Fort Hamilton is a steep twenty-minute climb for the best view over the harbour. For anything further, the Central Bus Terminal is five minutes up Queen Street and the ferry terminal four minutes west along the quay: the Blue Route ferry reaches the Dockyard in about 20 minutes and route 7 buses run along South Shore to Horseshoe Bay in about 35. Buy a 1-day transport pass at the ferry terminal before you set off, because buses want exact-change coins and ferries do not take cash at all. Visitors cannot rent a car in Bermuda, so the self-drive options are a scooter or a two-seat electric minicar.

From the cruise terminal to the city centre
The berths are in the city centre, so almost everything in Hamilton is inside a 10-minute walk.
📍 Step off the quay onto Front Street; the shops are directly opposite
The SeaExpress Blue Route crosses to the Royal Naval Dockyard in about 20 minutes. Ferries take tokens, tickets or passes only, never cash.
📍 Hamilton Ferry Terminal on Point Pleasant Road, about 4 minutes west along the quay
Pink and blue Breeze buses reach every parish: route 7 runs along South Shore to Horseshoe Bay, routes 10 and 11 to St George's, routes 1 and 3 past the Crystal Caves. Exact-change coins, tokens or a pass only.

Metered at roughly $9.20 for the first mile and $3.25 a mile after that; island sightseeing runs about $60 an hour with a 3-hour minimum. There is no Uber in Bermuda.

Visitors cannot rent a car in Bermuda. Scooters and two-seat electric Twizy minicars are the self-drive options; traffic is on the left, the limit is 35 km/h and the roads are narrow with no shoulders.
