Across the fjord, Geiranger is the showpiece village at the head of the Geirangerfjord, with souvenir shops, cafes and some of Norway's most famous viewpoints. From here the Eagle Road (Ornesvingen) climbs in tight hairpins to a balcony over the fjord, while the Flydalsjuvet viewpoint frames the classic postcard shot. It is reached by ferry plus a local bus or organised tour, so watch the timings.
