Take the free cruise shuttle from Center Wharf to Katsuta Station (15 min). From there, take the Ibaraki Kotsu bus to Hitachi Seaside Park west gate (15 min, ¥400). Entry is ¥700 during peak bloom, ¥450 off-peak. After the park, return by bus to Katsuta and ride the Hitachinaka Seaside Railway to Nakaminato (15 min, ¥250) for the fish market. Return by the same railway.

Take the free shuttle to Katsuta Station, then JR Joban Line to Mito (10 min, ¥200). From Mito Station north exit, take the Kanto Tetsudo bus to Kairakuen (15 min, ¥270). Garden entry is ¥320, Kobuntei villa an additional ¥230. The garden complex includes Tokiwa Shrine, which is free. Return by the same bus and train.
