Early morning; the climb is hot and exposed later
Raft Point juts into Doubtful Bay in Worrorra and Dambimangari country. A steep climb of about 150 m from the beach leads to a sandstone overhang painted with Wandjina: the cloud and rain spirits of the Kimberley, with halo-like heads and no mouths. The climb is rocky and exposed, so go early, wear proper shoes and carry water. Do not touch the paintings, and follow your guide's directions on photography.
