From the cruise terminal to the city centre
Town centre, restaurants, ATMs and souvenir stalls are a 10-minute flat walk along the harbour road.
📍 Out of the port gate, turn left onto Jalan Soekarno Hatta
Private speedboat charter is the standard cruise-day plan — covers Komodo Island, Padar and Pink Beach in one loop. Supply tightens fast on call days.
📍 Pre-book with a Komodo boat operator; captain meets you at the pier with a name sign
Cruise-line speedboat excursions are usually safe choices — pre-booked rangers, lunch and timed return. More expensive than a private charter for two.
📍 Cruise-line excursion desk on board; boats queue at the pier
Few taxis in town and no meters — set the price before getting in. Useful only for hotels or out-of-town stops; the park is by boat, not road.
📍 Taxi queue at the pier gate; agree the fare in advance
Ojek (motorbike taxi) is fine for short solo hops in town; helmets are optional and the road is busy. Not for families or longer trips.
📍 Ojek riders wait at the pier gate
