From the cruise terminal to the city centre
Many lines run a free or cheap shuttle to Pantai Cenang or Kuah. Easiest option for first-timers.
📍 Cruise-line shuttle queue inside the cruise gate at Awana Porto Malai
Coupon prices are set: Pantai Cenang ~RM15, Kuah/Eagle Square ~RM45, Sky Bridge ~RM65. Most drivers prefer cash.
📍 Coupon taxi desk at the jetty gate; pre-pay a fixed-rate coupon to avoid haggling
Grab works on Langkawi but driver coverage is thinner than in KL. Often cheaper than coupon taxis and the price is fixed in-app.
📍 Use the Grab app to request a car; pickup point is outside the cruise gate
Langkawi has small roads and almost no traffic — rental car is the best DIY option for full-day calls. International driver permit required.
📍 Car rental kiosks at the resort entrance and along Jalan Teluk Baru
Pantai Cenang is 2 km from the jetty along a hot road with limited shade; doable on cool mornings but most cruisers grab a taxi.
