Ships dock alongside at Garpeskjaer quay in central Maloy, a 5-minute walk from the taxi and minibus pickup on Gate 1. Kannesteinen is about 12 km (20 min) west via Vagsvag/Oppedal and Refvik beach about 14 km north-west; there is no walkable option, so it is taxi or the infrequent local (Kringom-branded, ticketed via Skyss) bus. A shared taxi or a direct booking of the same Maloy Adventure minibus is the realistic DIY, and both undercut the cruise price if you fill the vehicle.

The cruise version usually sails directly from Maloy harbour, so a DIY has to reach Selja the land-and-local-boat way. From Garpeskjaer quay take a taxi or the infrequent bus about 35 km (~55 min) to Selje village, then the small Klosterbaten (monastery boat, +47 990 46 022) across to Selja island; it must be booked by 7pm the evening before and only runs a few times a day timed to the Bergen express boats, so it does not reliably line up with a cruise call.
