The cruise pier is in the centre of town — turn left out of the terminal and follow the waterfront promenade 1.5 km (15-20 min) west past the marina to the castle, which sits behind the old town. Marmaris Castle and Archaeological Museum entry is around 50 TRY (~€1.50). The Grand Bazaar starts just below the castle on the old-town side; lanes are narrow, signed in English, and pickpocketing is rare but bag-zips matter. Bring small TRY for tea stops and toilet fees.

Pamukkale, Kamil Koç and the Marmaris–Dalyan dolmus all run from Marmaris Otogar (bus station), about 4 km from the cruise pier — take a taxi (~€8, 15 min) rather than walking. Direct Dalyan dolmuş departs Marmaris Otogar roughly hourly between 08:00 and 18:00 in summer and takes 75 minutes one-way for ~€5. From Dalyan riverfront, the 4-hour combined river-tour boats (mud baths + Kaunos view + Iztuzu) leave continuously from the central jetty, walk-up €20-25 incl. lunch optional. Bring swimwear and an old t-shirt for the mud bath; the sulphur smell sticks to fabric.
