This is what the day is for. The crew sets up loungers and shade along the lagoon side of the motu, and the water in front is calm, warm and shallow enough for children and hesitant swimmers. Grab a spot early near the trees for natural shade, then alternate between the water and the barbecue. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and water shoes: the sand is soft but there is coral rubble at the water's edge.
