The Channel Berth at Carrington is a working port area with no permanent terminal; temporary facilities and shuttle buses operate on cruise days. The complimentary shuttle takes passengers to Honeysuckle Foreshore in the CBD (~10 minutes). From there the compact city is very walkable. The Bathers Way coastal walk, Fort Scratchley, Newcastle Beach, and Honeysuckle dining are all within walking distance.
