Mele Cascades is a series of milky-blue limestone pools and small falls that climb the hillside behind Mele village to a 35 m waterfall. A path with ropes and handrails runs beside the water, and you can swim in the pools on the way up. The full climb and back takes 1.5–2 hours. The rocks are slippery: wear water shoes or sandals with grip, and bring a towel and a dry bag. Go as early as you can, because cruise-line tours fill the path from mid-morning on big ship days. Entry fees have risen in recent years, so carry enough vatu.
