Isla Tenglo is the long, green island that shelters Puerto Montt's harbour. Small passenger boats cross the channel from Angelmó all day for a few thousand pesos, weather permitting. From the landing a path climbs through pasture to the large white cross on the ridge, with a panorama over the city, the Reloncaví Sound and, on clear days, the Calbuco and Osorno volcanoes. The path can be muddy after rain, so wear proper shoes and check the boat times back.
Getting there from the port
Walk to the Angelmó market and take one of the small passenger boats from the jetties behind it; the crossing takes 5–10 minutes.
