The like-for-like DIY beach is Cabbage Beach, free public sand on the same Paradise Island. From Prince George Wharf walk ~10 min west to the Paradise Island ferry, cross Nassau Harbour for ~$3-4 one way, then walk ~15 min to the free public access point; a shared taxi over the bridge is $15-20pp instead. Loungers and umbrellas come from beach vendors (~$25), and food and drinks are pay-as-you-go at the beach bars. Bring small US bills.

Everything is on foot from Prince George Wharf. Walk ~10 min into downtown along Bay Street, then ~30 min west (or a ~€5 shared taxi) to the Arawak Cay Fish Fry, where stalls sell made-to-order conch salad, cracked conch and fritters for roughly $10 a plate plus a few dollars for Sky Juice or a Bahama Mama. Junkanoo Beach sits directly across the road for a free swim before walking back.
