No direct bus reaches Gjógv from Runavík, so a rental car is essential. Pre-book through a Tórshavn-based company that delivers to Kongshavn port or arrange pickup from the nearest depot. Drive north through Eysturoy — Oyndarfjørður is 15 min, Funningur 30 min, Gjógv 40 min. All sights are free and walk-up. Roads are well-maintained but narrow and single-track in places; allow extra time in fog.

Take the blue Bygdaleiðir bus from a stop near Kongshavn harbour to Tórshavn bus terminal (~35 min including wait; fare ~kr60/€8 each way). Tórshavn's red city buses are free. Walk from the bus terminal to Tinganes in 10 min. The National Museum (Hoyvík, ~2 km north) is reachable by free red bus or a 25-min walk. Entry is kr90/€12. All other sights are free and walk-up.
