This small museum on Rue Victor Hugo houses a chilling collection of objects fused, melted and warped by the pyroclastic flow that obliterated Saint-Pierre on 8 May 1902. Charred church bells, twisted ironwork, a stopped clock frozen at 07:52 and household items baked into volcanic rock tell the story more viscerally than any textbook. Allow 30–60 minutes. The displays are modest in size but dense with meaning — read every caption. The building itself sits on the street where 30,000 people died in under two minutes.
