🕐 Best time to visit
Morning or late afternoon; the zelkova avenue is lit at night
Built in 1893, the Sankyo warehouses still store rice today, their long wooden facades shaded by a famous double row of zelkova trees that buffer summer heat and winter wind. One hall is now a rice museum and another a souvenir shop and cafe; the tree-lined back lane is Sakata's signature photo spot.
