Sète is a city berth — walk from the cruise quay (Môle Saint-Louis / Quai d'Alger) to Gare de Sète in about 20 minutes. TER trains run to Montpellier Saint-Roch roughly every 20 minutes, ~25 min, ~€9 each way; buy at the station machine. Montpellier Saint-Roch is a 5-minute walk from Place de la Comédie, and the whole Écusson old town is car-free and walkable from there.

Sète is a city berth: walk ~20 min to Gare de Sète. Direct Intercités/TER trains reach Carcassonne in about 1h10–1h45, but there are only ~4 direct departures a day, so plan the return around the timetable before you commit. From Carcassonne station it's a 30–40 min walk across the Pont Vieux and uphill to La Cité (a seasonal navette/city bus also runs). Château Comtal and ramparts entry is €19 (free under 26); the lanes and basilica are free.
