Very doable on a normal call with a pre-booked rental car: it is about 45 minutes north on Route 436. Parks Canada entry is about C$12 and Norstead about C$14; both run roughly June to mid-October, 9-5. Watch the clock, but with 45 minutes each way this is a comfortable DIY, unlike the far Gros Morne days at other ports.
