🕐 Best time to visit
Late afternoon for the sunset over the Strait.
Open since 1921 on stepped terraces above the Strait of Gibraltar, Café Hafa is the city's most atmospheric mint-tea spot. Paul Bowles wrote here, the Rolling Stones drank here in 1967, Jean Genet was a regular. Bring cash, take a low table on the western terrace and watch the ferries crossing to Tarifa.
Getting there from the port
Walk uphill from the Kasbah via Avenue Mohamed Tazi or take a petit taxi (15-25 DH).
